Health & Safety

Are Shisha Sticks safe?

Unlike standard shisha or cigarettes, Shisha Sticks are 99% safer and do not contain ingredients such as tar, tobacco, nicotine and other harmful toxins. Instead, a steam-like vapour is created to provide satisfaction without the dangerous side-effects, just pure flavour.

How old do I have to be to smoke Shisha Sticks?

Shisha Sticks are not for anyone who is under the age of 18, pregnant ladies, patients with any kind of medical conditions.

If the products are safe and not harmful why do you have to be 18 and older to purchase them?

As the electronic cigarette market is largely unregulated, the age restriction has been implemented as a temporary solution, pending either tobacco or medicinal classification. It is unlikely that non-nicotine electronic shisha devices will require this classification in future but as a responsible retailer, Shisha Sticks believes that selling to under 18’s in the UK, should be avoided as a matter of precaution.

Is there an expiry date?

As a general rule of thumb, eight months from the date of manufacture.  If you require further information about the date of manufacture, please contact us at [email protected]

Will this stop me from smoking?

There is no guarantee that Shisha Sticks will stop you from smoking, although some customers have reported that it has. Each person is different and it all depends on you*.
*Shisha Sticks is not smoking cessation device, it cannot be used to stop or quit smoking. If you wish to stop or quit smoking do not buy our products and contact your local NHS or Doctor.

What is the sugar content and calories in one Shisha Stick?

The process of 'vaping' propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin and food additives involves absorption of calorific content.  There have been no clinical studies to date to accurately measure the level of absorption.   For people watching their weight or wishing to control their calorie intake, daily use of the ingredients mix in one shisha stick should be at a maximum of 30 calories per 500-puff stick at source.  If for example 20% of calorific content is absorbed, this would imply a 6 calorie intake.

Can I smoke Shisha Sticks if I am diabetic?

Vegetable glycerin should be used in absolute moderation if you are diabetic.   We would suggest that you are cautious and monitor your sugar levels before and after using this product.  We also suggest you speak to your doctor/health advisor prior to using this product.

What is inside Shisha Sticks, FC-Line and E-Liquids?

Shisha Sticks, FC-Line and E-Liquids contain Propylene Glycol, Vegetable Glycerin, food flavours, food-safe essential oils.

What is Propylene Glycol?

Propylene Glycol is a food grade chemical and is a key ingredient as an additive in various medicines and many food products. Propylene glycol is used in food products as a flavouring carrier, is non-toxic, and is an ingredient in products including food colouring and many types of flavouring. A base made of 100% PG is not as smooth as a base made of a PG/VG blend.

What is Vegetable Glycerin?

Vegetable Glycerin is a thick, sweeter tasting, vegetable based liquid used in electronic cigarettes and personal vaporizers. A base made of 100% VG is often very thick and hard to absorb effectively, when compared to a PG/VG mixed base.

What is the best way to dispose of the Shisha Sticks once used?

New government regulations called The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations encourages people to recycle old electrical products, rather than throwing them away.
Electrical goods are the fastest growing waste stream in the UK, growing by 5% each year. Each year in the UK we go through over 1.2 million tonnes of electrical waste.
Over 75% of waste electrical goods end up in landfill, where lead and other toxins contained in these items can cause soil and water contamination which, in turn, can have a very harmful effect on the environment and human health.
Many of the electrical items that we throw away can be repaired or recycled. Recycling items helps to save natural finite resources and also reduces the environmental and health risks associated with sending waste electrical goods to landfill.
In order to protect the environment for future generations it is important that we are all aware of the consequences of our actions and learn what we can do to make a difference.
If you would like to return your products back to us for safe disposal than please post to:
Arcade International WEE Returns, 102 East Barnet Road, New Barnet EN48RE
Please Note: Customers are required to pay the postage cost for returns.
Please click here to find your nearest bank for safe disposal.
Under the WEEE Regulations, all new electrical goods should now be marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol as shown on our packaging. Goods are marked with this symbol to show that they were produced after 13th August 2005, and should be disposed of separately from normal household waste.
